    Welcome to the New Light United Methodist Church, Lawton, Oklahoma.


    우리 교회는 미국 연합감리교회, 오클라호마 연회, 위치타 지방에 소속되어 있는 교회입니다. 
    우리 교회는 다민족 교회로서 여러 인종이 함께 모여 한 하나님을 섬기며 예배, 교육, 봉사, 선교, 친교를 목적으로 단결된 교회입니다.

    Our Church is belonging to the United Methodist Church, the Oklahoma Conference, and the Wichita District. 
    Our Church is a multiracial church where different races come together to serve one God and united for worship, 
    Christian education, service, mission, and fellowship.


    우리가 속하고 있는 연합감리교회는 미국 내에서 1,000만 명이 넘는 교인과 약 4만 개의 교회가 있으며 
    전 세계 50여 개국에 1,500명 이상의 선교사들이 활동하고 있습니다. 
    개신교로는 최초로 한국에 아펜젤러 선교사 부부를 파송한 교단입니다. 교단을 운영하는 제도는 중앙집권적인 감독 제도를 채택하고 있고, 
    기본 행정기관은 연회인데, 연회는 각 교회에서 목사 1인과 평신도 1인을 대표로 보내어 의사를 결정하는 민주적인 교단입니다. 

    The United Methodist Church has more than 10 million members and approximately 40,000 churches in the United States, 
    with more than 1,500 missionaries in more than 50 countries worldwide. 
    It was the first Protestant denomination to appoint a missionary couple, Henry Gerhard Appenzeller, in Korea. 
    The system of running a denomination adopts a centralized supervision system. 
    The basic administrative body is an Annual Conference. 
    The conference is a democratic denomination that sends one pastor and one layperson as representatives in each church to decide.

     


  • 미 대륙에서 최초의 종교 출판사인 콕스베리라는 출판사를 창단하고 운영하였고, 
    현재 10개의 종합대학교, 82개의 대학, 13개의 신학교, 8개의 초급대학, 9개의 고등학교, 
    1개의 전문학교, 약 400개의 병원, 고아원 및 양로원을 운영하고 있습니다.

    The United Methodist Church founded and operated the first religious publishing institution in the Continental United States, 
    Cokesbury, and now operates 10 universities, 82universities, 13 seminaries, 8 colleges, 9 high schools, 1 vocational school, 
    approximately 400 hospitals, orphanages, and nursing homes.


    개체교회는 조직상으로 연회에 속한 연대적인 관계(Connectional System)를 이루고 있지만, 
    개체교회 내의 자주성과 교인의 의견이 존중되며, 목회자를 중심으로 구성된 임원회가 실행부 위원회가 되어 
    독립적으로 움직이는 민주적인 행정을 이루어 나가는 교회입니다.

    An individual church is a democratic church that organizationally has a connectional system that belongs to a conference. 
    Still, the opinions of independent and members within the individual church are respected, 
    and an executive body centered on pastors becomes an executive committee and moves independently.

     


  • 영국 웨슬리 목사님의 뜨거운 회개 운동으로 시작한 연합감리교회는 미국에서 큰 부흥을 가져왔으며 
    1946년 펜실베이니아주 존스타운에서 복음교회와 연합 형제교회가 통합하여 복음주의 연합형제교회(Evangelical United Brethren Church)를 창설하였고, 
    1968년 달라스에서 감리교회와 통합하여 현재의 연합감리교회가 이루어지게 되었습니다.

    The United Methodist Church, which began with pastor John Wesley's repentance movement in England, 
    led to a great revival in the United States, and the Evangelical United Brethren Church was founded in Johnstown, 
    Pennsylvania in 1946, with the integration of the Evangelical United Brethren Church, 
    and the current United Methodist Church in Dallas in1968.


    이러한 훌륭한 전통과 역사적 바탕 위에 세워진 우리 교회는 주님의 많은 제자를 길러내며, 
    지역사회와 세상을 섬기는 일과 선교사를 돕고 후원하는 사역에 최선을 다하며 매일 하나님의 나라를 확장해 나아가는 교회로 성장하고 있습니다.

    Built on this wonderful tradition and historical foundation, our Church has grown into a church 
    that grows into a church that grows many of the disciples of Christ, 
    does its best to serve the community and the world, and does its best 
    to help and support missionaries, and expands the kingdom of God every day.
