The Church Toward Multi-Ethnic Ministry
'Go and make disciples of all nations'
The Lawton New Light United Methodist Church strives to act on Jesus's command to "go and make disciples of all nations."
The church started with the name "Lawton Korean United Methodist Church,"
but the church decided to change the name of the church to "New Light United Methodist Church"
in the sense that it is not just a Korean church, but a church where peoples come together to shine the Light of the world.
Today, the church is a faith community with people from various nationalities.
Whites and blacks from the United States, Korea, Philippines, Panama, Thailand, and
Hawaiians work together to create a Christian community of faith.
Although they have a different history, culture, and customs, they compose a multi-faith community
that serves the church together under one God.
They will come together on a mission to "will be witnesses to the ends of the earth."
