교회의 사명 선언문과 실천과제
전인적으로 헌신된 그리스도인이 되어 주님의 지상 명령을 온 세상에 실천하는 교회
그리스도의 사랑으로 부르심을 받아 교회의 지체가 된 새빛연합감리교회는 전교인(어린이, 청소년, 성인)이 성령의 능력을 체험하고 그 능력을 세상에 증거하며 그리스도의 지상명령을 실천하는 교회가 되겠습니다
전 교인이 삶을 그리스도께 헌신하는 일꾼이 되기 위하여,
01 말씀을 늘 사모하며 공부하는 교인들이 되겠습니다.
성경말씀을 사모하고 실천하는 교인들이 되기 위하여 생명의 삶(기초반/13주 과정), 제자의 삶(중급반/13주 과정), 그리스도인의 삶(고급반/13주)과정을 개설하여 전교인들이 이 과정을 마치도록 한다.
02 기도의 능력을 체험하는 교인들이 되겠습니다.
기도의 능력을 체험하기 위하여 연속 새벽기도회(연 2회), 사순절 새벽기도회, 절기 새벽기도회 모임을 갖는다.
03 속회(Small Group Meeting) 모이기에 최선을 다하는 교인이 되겠습니다.
소그룹(속회) 모임을 통하여 제자의 모습을 배우고 교인 상호간의 신뢰를 형성하고 회복하며, 새 신자들을 전도하고 양육하여 영정으로 성장시켜 그리스도인으로서의 온전한 삶을 살도록 한다.
04 전도에 최선을 다하는 교인이 되겠습니다.
성경은 우리를 이웃을 초청하는 전도자로 부르셨고, 또한 우리는 복음을 전해야 할 의무를 지니고 있다. 말씀을 전할 뿐 만 아니라 그 말씀을 구체적으로 실천할 수 있는 일꾼으로 부르셨다. (1인 이상 전도)
05 예배참석에 최선을 다하는 교인이 되겠습니다.
하나님은 예배를 통하여 교회가 매일 변화되기를 원하신다. 이러한 하나님의 요구에 응답하기 위하여 온 교우가 자발적으로 예배에 참여하여 하나님을 찬양하고, 성령의 능력으로 변화를 받아 기쁨으로 신앙생활을 하도록 노력한다.
06 우리에게 주신 달란트를 기꺼이 헌신하는 교인이 되겠습니다.
우리는 우리의 가진 재능을 하나님이 원하시는 뜻대로 이웃을 위하여 사용하도록 부름을 받았다. 이러한 재능을 하나님이 기뻐하시는 사업에 기쁨으로 사용하여야 한다.
07 교회의 본질을 회복하고 개혁에 앞장서는 교인이 되겠습니다.
우리는 하나님께서 우리 교회가 늘 변화하고 하나님과의 관계가 회복되기를 원하고 계심을 믿는다. “볼지어다.” 내가 문 밖에 또 서서 두드리노니, 누구든지 내 음성을 듣고 문을 열면 내가 그에게로 들어가 그로 더불어 먹고 그는 나로 더불어 먹으리라”는 계시록 3: 20의 말씀처럼 교회와 성도들의 마음 문을 열고 상처받은 영혼들을 치유하는 교회가 된다.

Empowering people to become totally devoted disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ in mission to the world
Korean United Methodist Church of Lawton is called to raise up children, youth, and adults who love Christ with their whole being, whose lives and relationships reflect Christ's character, and who are empowered by Holy Spirit to fulfill the Great Commission on the world.
As totally devoted disciples
01 We are committed to relevant, Bible teaching.
We are committed to equipping all people through the teaching of God's Word, to follow Christ and be empowered by the Holy Spirit in every sphere of life.
02 We are committed to prayer.
We believe that prayer is the heart of all ministry. All ministries of the church are dependent upon prayer for its conception, development, and implementation.
03 We are committed to small groups.
Through small groups people are discipled by forming relationships that last, growing in relationship with God, and learning to reach out to new people in their sphere of relationship.
04 We are committed to outreach.
The scriptures specifically call us to reach out to those around us, and through the world to bring the good news to all. We believe that God has called us to minister to the whole person, caring for the social, relational, physical and spiritual needs of individuals.
05 We are committed to worship that is creative, relevant and participative.
Recognizing God's desire to have a renewed church, we believe that worship should be creative and fresh, embracing and affirming the things God is doing today in the life of His church. We believe God has not called us to be spectators, but people who involve themselves in acts of praise and adoration. We believe that all worship is under the direction of the transforming power of the Holy Spirit and welcome all authentic manifestations of His ministry among us.
06 We are committed to helping people identify and develop their spiritual gifts.
We believe the Bible teaches that God has called all of His church to be in ministry one to the other and to the world. We are committed to developing effective lay leadership and lay ministry.
07 We are committed to the restoration and renewal of the church.
We believe that God is always seeking to renew His Church. In Rev 3: 20 we hear Jesus say: "Behold I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears my voice and open the door, I will come in and eat with him and he with me". We recognize that these words were written to the church. In keeping with the words of Jesus, we seek to restore the fallen, to heal the hurting and to proclaim God's message of grace and restoration to His church.
